Good Fork Terms of Service

Effective date: October 6, 2026 | Last updated: October 6, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Good Fork, LLC, a Washington limited liability company ("Good Fork," "we," "us"). They cover the Good Fork apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Android and the web, getgoodfork.com, and related services (the "Service"). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

The short version

Good Fork is built by people who plan, shop and cook for their own households, and we want these terms to read the way we'd want them written for us. Here's what matters most:

  • Your content stays yours. Good Fork does not take ownership of content you create or otherwise have rights to. We use it only as needed to run Good Fork for you and your household, including with AI that reads, formats and translates recipes.

  • Your own account is for adults. You must be 18 or older to have your own account. Teens 13 to 17 can join a household as a Kid, set up by its Chef. Younger children can take part through a parent or guardian's account.

  • Households share. Everyone in your household sees the shared meal plan, grocery list, recipes and members' names. The household's Chef can also see members' email addresses; each member can see their own email address.

  • Pro renews until you cancel. The subscription belongs to the account that purchased it. While that account belongs to a household, the household shares the Pro benefits. If the subscriber leaves the household, Pro stays with that subscriber's account. Cancel through the channel where you purchased it; deleting your account does not cancel it.

  • Check what you cook. Recipes, nutrition and allergen notes, and anything AI writes or changes can be wrong. Always check ingredients and labels, especially for allergies.

  • Some retailer links may pass through an affiliate link provider, and Good Fork may earn a commission on purchases at no extra cost to you.

  • If we disagree, we'll try to sort it out together first. Most disputes then go to individual arbitration instead of court, and you can opt out within 30 days (section 17).

  • We'll tell you before material changes to these Terms take effect.

  • This summary is here to help you find your way; the full terms below are what apply.

1. Agreeing to these Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. When you sign up or sign in, you check a box to agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy before any way of signing in (Apple, Google, Facebook or email) can be used. Nothing is pre-checked; you must agree yourself. We record which version of these Terms and of the Privacy Policy you agreed to, when, and on which platform. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Who can use Good Fork

You must be 18 or older to have your own Good Fork account, as a Chef or Sous Chef. We don't ask your age; by creating your own account, you confirm you're 18 or older. Teens 13 to 17 may use Good Fork only as a Kid, in a household whose Chef invited them as a Kid or switched them to Kid (section 4). Children under 13 can't have an account; parents and guardians can mark recipes Kid Friendly and keep track of younger children's favorites from their own account.

Age checks by app stores. Where the law requires it, such as in Texas, the app uses the age category and parental-consent status supplied by Apple or Google; we never ask for a birth date. If the age category is under 13, you cannot have an account, and a Kid account is closed. If it is 13 to 17, you can use Good Fork only as a Kid. If a parent withdraws approval through the App Store or Google Play, we pause the account on every device. See "Age information from app stores" in the Privacy Policy.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in details secure; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information and keep your email address current. You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription (see section 6).

4. Households

Good Fork is built around a household: the people who share a meal plan, grocery list and recipes. Every account starts with its own household. A household's Chef can invite others as Sous Chef or Kid and can change roles or remove members. Everyone in a household can see shared household content and members' names. The Chef can also see members' email addresses; each member can see their own email address. If an adult leaves or is removed, content they added to the household stays with it without their account link.

Kids. A Chef can invite a teen 13 to 17 as a Kid, or switch a member to Kid, after checking a box that says: "I'm their parent or guardian, or I have their permission, and they're 13 or older." We record which Chef confirmed and when; we do not store a birth date or precise age. Kid accounts cannot change their own role, leave the household, create a household, receive marketing, use Good Fork product analytics, request location access, or connect retailer accounts.

If a Kid is removed from the household, the Kid account is deleted. An adult cannot leave if that would leave only Kids in the household. If the last adult deletes their account, the Kid accounts are deleted first. Deleting an account does not cancel any subscription associated with that account.

5. Free and Pro

Good Fork is free to use, with limits described in the app. Good Fork Pro adds features such as planning further ahead, sharing a household with more members, saving more of your own recipes and Remix. The current features and limits of each plan are shown in the app and may change; we'll tell you before a change takes away something you pay for.

6. Subscriptions, renewal and refunds

Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store, Google Play, or Good Fork's web checkout, depending on where you buy it. The price and billing period are shown before you buy. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel it through the purchase channel before renewal. For purchases through Apple or Google, payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by that store under its terms. For purchases through Good Fork's web checkout, billing, cancellation and refund terms are shown at checkout and in the applicable billing interface, subject to applicable law. The subscription belongs to the account that purchased it. While that account is in a household, the household shares its Pro benefits. If the subscriber leaves the household or changes roles, the subscription remains with that subscriber's account; the former household loses those Pro benefits unless another member has or purchases a subscription. Deleting your Good Fork account does not cancel your subscription; cancel it through the channel where you purchased it.

7. Your content

You keep whatever rights you have in the recipes, notes, photos, plans and lists you add ("your content"). Sharing content with a household does not transfer ownership of that content to other household members. You give Good Fork a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, adapt and display your content only as needed to provide and improve the Service for you and your household - for example, to show it to your household, sync it across devices, rewrite an imported recipe in Good Fork's format and language, and process it with companies and services that support Good Fork, including AI providers, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you add content to a shared household, you authorize Good Fork to keep making that content available to the household after you leave or delete your account, without your account attribution, until the content is removed through the Service or the household is deleted. Otherwise, this license ends when you delete your content or account, subject to temporary copies retained in backups or logs under applicable retention schedules.

8. Importing recipes

Good Fork can bring in recipes from links, social posts, photos, pasted text and other apps' export files. Import only content you have the right to use for yourself and your household. Importing third-party content does not transfer its copyright or other ownership rights to you or Good Fork. Good Fork keeps the link to the original source where there is one. Imported recipes are for your personal, non-commercial use; do not use Good Fork to republish other people's content.

9. Recipes, nutrition, allergens and AI

Recipe content, timers, nutrition estimates and allergen cautions are provided for convenience and may be incomplete or wrong. Some features use AI to read, rewrite, translate or change recipes (for example, imports, "Clean up this recipe" and Remix); AI output can contain mistakes. Always check ingredients and labels yourself, especially for allergies, intolerances and dietary needs, and follow safe food-handling and cooking temperatures.

10. Stores and affiliate links

Good Fork can search stores and send items to a retailer such as Kroger or Walmart, where available. Shopping and checkout happen with the retailer under its own terms; prices and availability are theirs.

Good Fork works with an affiliate link provider. Some links in the app to retailer products, including Kroger and Walmart products, pass through the provider's redirect on the way to the store. The provider records the click (for example, IP address, browser details and the product link) and may set its own cookies. Good Fork may earn a commission on purchases, at no extra cost to you. Good Fork receives commission reports, not personal information, and never sends the provider your name, email, account information or shopping list.

11. Third-party services

Good Fork works with services such as Apple, Google and Facebook for sign-in, Apple and Google for app-store subscriptions, services that support Good Fork's web billing, retailers, and an affiliate link provider. Your use of those services is governed by their terms and privacy policies. We aren't responsible for them.

12. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service. For example, don't break or overload it, access it without permission, scrape it, reverse-engineer it except where the law allows, use it to break the law or infringe others' rights, or upload anything harmful.

Good Fork may, in its reasonable discretion, suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service for violations of these Terms, misuse of the Service, or unlawful, abusive, harmful, or otherwise inappropriate content.

13. Good Fork's content and the Service

Good Fork's own recipes, photos, text, design and software belong to Good Fork or its licensors. You may use them through the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. We may change, add or remove features, and we may suspend or end the Service, with notice where we reasonably can.

Good Fork respects copyright. If you believe material available through the Service infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to enforce, send a written notice containing the information required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to our designated copyright agent:

Copyright Agent
Good Fork, LLC
100 N Howard St, Ste R
Spokane, WA 99201
Phone: 541-292-1305
Email: max@getgoodfork.com

We may remove or disable access to material in response to a valid notice. Where appropriate, we may also terminate accounts of repeat infringers. If material you submitted is removed because of a copyright notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send our designated agent a counter-notification that satisfies applicable law.

15. Suspension and ending

You can stop using Good Fork and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or puts others at risk, with notice where we reasonably can. We pause an account on every device when a parent withdraws approval through the App Store or Google Play (section 2).

16. Disclaimers and limits of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, Good Fork is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

17. Governing law and disputes

Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, you and Good Fork agree to try to resolve a dispute informally for 30 days, starting when one side writes to the other (to us at hello@getgoodfork.com).

Arbitration. If the dispute is not resolved, it will be decided by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Either side may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either side may ask a court to stop the infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

Class-action waiver. You and Good Fork may bring claims against each other only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding.

Opting out of arbitration. You may opt out within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms by emailing hello@getgoodfork.com with your name, your account email and a statement that you opt out of arbitration.

Courts. Any dispute not decided in arbitration will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Pierce County, Washington, and you and Good Fork consent to their jurisdiction.

EEA and UK. If you live in the EEA or the UK, nothing in this section takes away the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.

18. Apple

If you got Good Fork from Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs your license to the app, unless Good Fork separately provides a custom app-license agreement. These Terms govern your use of the Good Fork Service. Apple is not responsible for providing support for Good Fork or for claims relating to the Service except as Apple's Standard EULA provides.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version with its date, and for a material change we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Good Fork after a change takes effect, the new Terms apply.
