About Good Fork

Dinner should be one of the good parts of your day.

We love cooking. It's figuring out what to make, finding that recipe we saved weeks ago, and remembering what we need from the store that can make dinner feel like a chore.

Good Fork is our way of making all of that easier. It's a place to save the recipes you love, plan meals that sound good, build your grocery list, and enjoy the cooking part, whether you're making dinner for yourself or sharing the kitchen with someone else.

It started in our kitchen.

I'm Maxwell Finch, the founder and developer behind Good Fork. Danielle is my fiancée, my favorite person to cook with, and a big part of why this app exists.

For us, cooking means music on, a little dancing around the kitchen, and adding more spice than the recipe calls for. Then we sit down to the meal and settle in for another favorite pastime: cheering when Ariana Madix walks into Love Island.

We've been planning our meals together for three years. For most of that time, we used Mealime, and it taught us just how much easier the week could feel when we had a plan.

But over time, we wanted more.

We were finding recipes on Instagram, food blogs, and in cookbooks. We wanted to save those recipes, change ingredients to suit our tastes, and plan meals without having to decide exactly what we'd eat every night.

We tried other apps, too. Tasty had plenty of inspiration but felt a little too busy for us. ReciMe helped with importing recipes, but we missed having a library to browse and a more flexible way to plan our week.

Every app had something we liked, but none quite brought it all together the way we wanted.

So I started building Good Fork.

Made for the way people actually cook.

Real life doesn't always follow a meal plan. Sometimes Tuesday's dinner becomes Thursday's. Sometimes you discover a recipe you can't wait to try. And sometimes you're halfway through cooking when you realize you could use another pair of hands.

We wanted Good Fork to work with those moments, not against them.

That's why you can move meals around, make recipes your own, share a grocery list that updates as you shop, and cook together while each following along on your own device.

We're home cooks, not professional chefs. We're building Good Fork around the little things we've learned from years of planning meals, grocery shopping, and cooking together.

And while our story started with two people sharing a kitchen, Good Fork isn't just for couples. It's for solo cooks, families, housemates, and anyone who wants to spend a little less time organizing dinner and a lot more time enjoying it.

Here's to good food, good company, and making a little mess along the way.
