Reporting infringement

If you believe material on Good Fork infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to act for, send our copyright agent a written notice that includes all of the following:

  • Your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or a person authorized to act for the owner.

  • A description of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.

  • A description of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it. For example, the recipe name, the household or link if you have one, and screenshots.

  • Your contact information: your address, phone number and email address.

  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act for the owner.

A notice that is missing any of these may not be acted on. Be careful before you send one. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), a person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing can be liable for damages.

What we do

When we receive a valid notice, we remove or disable access to the material, tell the user who added it, and keep a record of the notice.

Counter-notification

If we removed material you added and you believe that was a mistake, or that the material was misidentified, you can send our copyright agent a counter-notification that includes all of the following:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.

  • A description of the material that was removed and where it appeared before it was removed.

  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed because of a mistake or misidentification.

  • Your name, address and phone number.

  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where your address is. If your address is outside the United States, you consent to the jurisdiction of any judicial district where Good Fork may be found. You also accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

We send a copy of your counter-notification to the person who sent the notice. We may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days, unless that person tells us they have filed a court action to stop you from using it.

Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances, Good Fork ends the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright.
