Use cooking timers
Start a timer from a recipe step and keep track of it while you cook.
Start a timer
While following a recipe in cooking mode, go to the step with the timer and choose Start. Start it when the food is ready for that part of the recipe. Reaching the step doesn’t begin the countdown automatically.
Pause, resume, or reset
Choose Pause to stop the countdown for a moment.
Choose Resume to carry on from where you paused.
Choose Reset to return to the timer’s original duration.
Leave the screen without losing your timers
When you close the cooking screen, choose Leave to keep your timers running. Use the Cooking bar to return to the recipe.
If you’re cooking with someone else, you share the timers. Check with them before pausing or resetting one they may be using.
If you don’t hear the timer
Check that Good Fork can send notifications, then check your device’s volume, silent mode, and Focus or Do Not Disturb settings. On supported Apple devices, you can also check timers on the Lock Screen or Apple Watch.
For anything that needs close attention, keep a kitchen timer handy too. A timer can remind you to check the food, but it can’t tell you whether it’s fully cooked.
If a timer isn’t working as expected
Let us know the recipe, step, and timer duration, along with your device and app version. Tell us whether the app was open or in the background and whether someone else was cooking with you.
