Groceries and shopping
How your grocery list works
The meals you plan become a grocery list, with space for anything else you need.
Your meals make the list
Add meals to your plan and Good Fork adds their ingredients to Groceries. Where possible, we combine ingredients from different recipes and group them by aisle.
Each week has its own list. If you plan ahead with Pro, check that you’re shopping for the week you intended.
Before you head to the store
Look through the list and check what you already have at home. You can add anything else you need, from breakfast ingredients to cleaning supplies.
Open an item to see which recipes need it and how much they call for. This is useful if an amount looks larger than you expected.
Why quantities can change
Your list follows your plan. Add or remove a meal, or change its servings, and the ingredients you need may change too.
You can also add more of an item by hand. For example, milk needed for a recipe and extra milk for the week can appear together on one line. Open the item’s details to see where the total comes from.
Shopping together
With Pro, everyone in your household uses the same grocery list. When someone checks off an item, the others can see it too. That makes it easier to split up at the store without buying the same thing twice.
A Chef can choose whether a Kid has access to Groceries.
If something seems to be missing
Check whether it’s already been collected. In List options, choose Show collected to see checked items. If it isn’t there, check that the recipe is still in your plan for that week.
